Transmit App Reviews

91 Customer Reviews:

After upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion the "Mount as a Disk" feature stopped working with out any message. On top of that they dont have a support forum or database of common problems. In the end I had to search the internet to learn how to fix their software, how about a little bit of testing eh? For others who are looking if you can no longer "Mount as a Disk" try deleting ~/Library/Application Support/Transmit/Transmit Disk. Then try again.

Best FTP Client...

This is the best FTP Client ever!!! I wouldnt use nothing else even if it was given to me!!! The guys at Panic are talented and nice!!!

Im still going back to version 4.3.4 (recovering through TimeMachine) which was the last version that I could get to mount my server as a disk. Thats the only reason I switched to Transmit from my other FTP app. I wouldnt buy it as a new user until that is fixed.

Unparalleled

This is simply the best FTP client anywhere. From every perspective- user experience, speed, and features- it is simply unparalelled.

Update lost all my favorites, no longer opens droplets from previous version, and I cant seem to establish any connections. Great product before, but now its just sitting in my dock collecting dust...

Update Fried the App

Favorites gone. Can’t connect to anything. As you can imagine, this has caused me great sorrow. *turns and stares out his window despondently*

Transmit is the one FTP client all our customers use, because its scriptable, highly supported, highly compatible and extremely intuitive. Many FTP solutions out there, but there is only one that holds the crown for serious users. Don

Not sure what happened with the latest update, but my favorites are gone, too. And I’m unable to make any connection. Would love to see some kind of update here so we know the problem is being worked on. I look forward to being able to change my review when this issue’s fixed, because Transmit has been wonderful up until now.

Refresh button still isn’t recursive. No full screen option.

…and it still crashed when dealing with large numbers of files.

I have tried many FTP apps for both mac and pc, and none of them are as simple, fast and great to use as Transmit. Highly recommended. Even though the cost is a bit high (in my humble opinion) it has been worth every penny.

If you use S3 this is a must

Transmit is the nicest interface to S3 out there.

I’ve used this since WAAY back when it was a “program.” (Shh…. we used to have those). Always reliable. The interface and its blend with the OS just keeps getting better. It works more like Dropbox for your FTP. If you want SIMPLE, this is it.

I used to use Cyberduck

I have never seen an FTP client as polished as this. Great job guys.

This app would be the best S3 interface out there IF it could keep the connections alive long enough to use them. For small files it works peachy king (I copied an iPhoto library with no problems) but as soon as I wanted to transmit a thousand 512mb files it died after the first one. I wanted to store a partitioned zip file of a large backup (~500gb) but I have failed to do so, even after tweaking the settings.

I am new in comupational research. I’ve been struggling with transfering data from my Linux workstation to my own mac desktop. The only way I know, and as the other group members told me, was to use scp command, which is very inconvenient. Now, with this much straight forward visualization of my folders and directories, things become much more easy!!!

Overall a great file manger with great features. I have had no problems using this program however if you are a power-user, you may find ForkLift 2 better fits the bill (RegEx support for renaming, filtering, mass batch operations, etc.). I’d recomend this program to average users.

I like the app, but there is a visible anoyance when in icon mode. When at 128px the vertical spacing between icons appears to be idencial as to when the icons size is set to 32px. So at 32 px the icons feel spaced out but at 128px + the icons feel scrunched…

The Best

One of the best, robust, feature-full client for SFTP. Really happy with the look + awesome features it has! Nice job as always Panic!
