Transmit App Reviews
After trying several FTP clients - some paid, some free - the verdict is clear. Transmit has everything I need. Its fast. I can integrate it with my finder. The interface rocks. I make intensive use of the search function and the tab display. I can work on multiple projects in the same time w/o cumbersome navigation. I can trust it with my data.
I use Transmit heavily most days, working with multiple servers locally and in other countries. It is blazing fast, a pleasure to work with, and solidly reliable on FTP and SFTP connections. This is the Gold standard app for FTP on OS X, no question.
You wont be disappointed
Best ftp software ever built.
It doesn’t open my ftp accounts anymore and lost my favorites this happened after I updated from Mountain Lion to Mavricks I hope you guys can fix this asap
Great FTP
Great app but recently, it’s not letting me upload multiple files :( Please fix this problem!
This is a fantastic application. I live in a rural area with very, very slow internet connection due to heavy throttling that we have here in Canada. As a student I’ve tried to start my own web design business, but because of my slow internet I could not upload a website to my server! Most other FTP clients could not even establish a connection at times. Thats why I love transmit! It always connects and ‘transmits’ data at blazing fast speeds (at least for my internet). Great job guys!
This application promises a lot, and underdelivers on a lot of it. Not only are the SFTP speeds extremely low, but resuming after an interrupted transfer is a painful task, completely hit and miss. If one is downloading a folder, then transmit does not initiate multiple connections to download each of the files over separate connections in parallel. Rather, it downloads them serially, even though I have specified ten simultaneous connections in the options. In addition, one cannot mount SFTP shares as disks using the menu bar icon. It looks good, and doesn’t manage much else. There are free applications available which provide more throughput and more reliable resuming capabilities.
Thanks
Most perfect FTP/SFTP program i have ever seen. Im using it with enjoy. Thanks Panic Inc.
The best FTP app out there
What can i say, there is nothing better out there. Yes it is expensive, but this an app for life - it is a good investment.
This app was destroyed.
I cant add ANY server to Favorites (either in sync and dont sync option). Reinstalled. Something is really wrong!
transmit disk doesnt work
transmit disk doesnt work at lion gm, though the 4.1.6 trial from your site didnt have any troubles with it
Russian filenames
Not working with russian filenames over mapping drives...
in OSX 10.8.2: - dont open in ext. editor like Textmate - mount as disk dont working. always proposes to download "Transmit Disk.pkg". after install this pkg, still not working
Great, but...
AppStore version is not the current version. Please update!
When I try to modify file with external editor, app text me “Could not change attributes of “somefile.php”.”. That is not true, I have all permissions to modify anything! Previous versions havent this problem. I change my Rate from 5 to 3 stars and waiting updates.
Nice idea, bad realization
im buy this only for use SFTP mount as disk, and this disk is read only :(
top
the best ftp client for mac.
Too expensive
This application is certainly nice but honestly the features it offers are not commensurated with its price.
I bought this app for exchanging large files (results of simulations) between Mac and linux clusters. Unfortunately, it is quite slow. The subdirectroies donot update quickly, and I have to refresh a few times (because TRANSMIT does not respond) the host folders, to be able to transfer the files back to my Mac. I was hoping that it would be as good as SSH secure file transfer, at least for the data transfer, but unfortunately it is not.
Nicely done but not stable enough for heavy lifting. The mounted disks just vanish under heavy load albeit the process is still up. Needs manual force quit & remounting. On light load works very well.
