very good !
Well, ive tried a good number of ftp/sftp apps and this is just great. I really like free stuff, but i had to spend a few dollars to buy this one. If youre going to need ftp/sftp access, i really recomend this.
While syncing with S3, Transmit does not show the transfer rate, also, if you are syncing a folder, for example, it doesnt show the total average of the upload, so you are always blind! You dont know if the transfer is going ok, or if your connection is somekind limited. You dont know if the files are syncing ok. Another terrible thing is that the files on your folder is synced randomically, trust me! For instance, Im syncing a folder that has picures folders with names, 2006, 2007… 2011, right? Guess with who it started? 2010! Why? I dont know… Very expensive for what it does, be aware...
I really like Transmit now as S3 is working great and the S3 volume is really a neat feature. For sync it would be great to get better information about the progress, you can see the progress on a single file but not on the whole sync process. For me it is a clear BUY !
Your app is absolutely amazing. Im using it every day and it just works perfectly. But it would be a lot nicer if you could add iCloud syncing to Transmit. This would help me a lot. Im working usually on my iMac at work (where I got all my favourites set up), but when I travel to a customer with my MacBook, I have to retype the connection information. Syncing these would make my job a lot easier. Thanks! You did a good job with this app.
No much more to say than: Transmit rocks!
I used the mount as Volume functionality all the time. That is why I bought this software at all. Now, as of 4.4 this does not work anymore. So i had to switch back to filezilla an macfusion. Please fix this.
Top Software! BUT: Dont update to 4.4.4 if you use Mountain Lion and automator actions. -> Automator actions only work with 4.4.3 and Mountain Lion or 4.4.4 and Maverick I have updated and now I can not step back within Apple Store. Perhaps this is useful for other users. UPDATE: This has been FIXED with 4.4.5
i only can configure one global Proxy Server… this is a big „dismiss“ I would like to see an option in every Serverconfiguration where i can set an Proxyserver… This would be a great improvement… Some freeware FTP Program can do this… so why not Transmit also? The Freewareprogram i mean is „FTPRush“ which runs under Windows… Since i switched to Apple im using Transmit… I wrote to the Support… but they only gave me an quick answer… and nothing happens… So Transmit-Team… please make Transmit the best FTP Program for Mac!
This is the best FTP client Ive ever used, but Im having a lot of difficulty (no success yet) mounting a drive as was promised in the description above.
I just spent $33 on an app that keeps crashing everytime I click on a folder in S3. Multiple troubleshooting steps have failed to resolve this issue. Im beyond frustrated at this point. Hopefully I can get my money back. **UPDATE FEB-2-2011** The 4.1.5 update resolved the S3 issue. I will update my review once Ive had a chance to use the app for a few days.
Blazing fast, visually appealing, and extremely useful for anyone needing an FTP client. I highly recommend this app.
I used to think that all I needed from FTP I could get from the Command Line. Transmit proved otherwise. Panic have taken what youd think would be a pretty boring, utilitarian thing and figured out all sorts of ways to make it convenient, helpful, efficient, and really good-looking. The S3 integration is a welcome addition, too.
Fantastic FTP client. Seamless transfers, very "Mac-like" interface, and a great combination of point-and-click ease plus all the power features you could want. So good I repurchased it via the App Store (for easy updates and migrating to a new disc-less MacBook Air) even though I already owned a copy.
Hands down, the best FTP client available for Mac OSX. And for the price, no one can complain!
I move a lot of files around, and have been using Transmit for years and years. Its an app I just cant be without, and I was happy to buy the latest version via the App Store. Ive tried a lot of FTP clients, some good, some not so good, but Transmit is the very best one out there.
Do NOT buy if: 1 you have files larger 66K 2 you are connecting to FileZilla Server FTP server 3 you are using Disk Mount Mode Because you will get this error: The Finder cant complete the operation because some data in "filename" cant be read or written. (Error code -36) I have tested on multiple servers and submitted this issue to Transmit Support. Otherwise it works great!
Transmit is a beautiful app, seamlessly integrated with OS X. Though on the pricey side, as a web developer this was an essential investment that Id make again and again. One feature Id love to have is a button that drops you into a terminal on the remote server to the working directory.
So easy to use. Instant fluid transfers. The drag and drop option works really well.
